Retraction
This article has been retracted in full. It claimed that a report of NVIDIA
acquiring Hugging Face was fabricated. That claim was wrong. The acquisition
is real, and AI Times Korea reported it accurately.
On September 3, 2026, AsiaAI.FYI published an article stating that a report by
AI Times Korea of NVIDIA acquiring Hugging Face was a fabrication.
How this happened
AsiaAI.FYI uses an automated pipeline to translate and summarise East Asian
technology reporting. In this issue, the summary stage read the source article
and reported it accurately. A later stage, which drafts the longer
“Signal” essay, works from that summary rather than the source
article, and is instructed to identify assumptions it believes are wrong. Its
underlying model had no record of the acquisition, and it concluded the event
had not occurred.
The original article was removed on September 4, 2026, after being posted for about three hours. It was not sent to email subscribers. This page replaces it at its original address so that the correction reaches anyone who follows a link to it.
